What You'll Build

Every morning, you open a file and see: today's date, your top priorities, a quick summary of what is happening in the world, and a motivational thought. You build it once, and Claude updates it for you every day.

Before You Start

Make sure you have completed the Mac Setup or Windows Setup guide.

Step 1: Create Your Briefing Folder

mkdir ~/morning-briefing
cd ~/morning-briefing

Step 2: Start Claude

claude

Step 3: Ask Claude to Build Your Briefing

Tell Claude what you want in your morning briefing:

Create a morning briefing page in a single index.html file. Beautiful design, dark background, easy to read on a phone or computer. Include:

1. Today's date and a greeting based on the time of day
2. A section called "Today's Focus" where I can type my top 3 priorities
3. A section called "Quick Notes" for anything on my mind
4. A motivational quote that changes each day
5. A clean countdown showing days left in the current month

Save my priorities and notes so they are still there when I come back. Make it feel calm and minimal.

Open the file when Claude is done:

On Mac:

open index.html

On Windows (WSL):

explorer.exe index.html

Step 4: Customize It

Ask Claude to add anything you want:

Add a weather widget that shows the weather in Lisbon.
Add a section that shows my weekly goals and lets me check them off.
Add a breathing exercise timer I can use for 2 minutes.

Step 5: Use It Every Day

Bookmark the file or set it as your browser homepage. Every morning, open it, write your priorities, and start your day with focus.

What You Learned

You built a personal morning routine tool. No app subscription, no sign-up, no ads. Just a simple page on your computer that helps you start your day with intention.
