What You'll Do
You have messy notes from a meeting, a voice memo transcript, or a bunch of scattered thoughts in your notes app. Claude can turn that into a polished blog post, email, or social media post in about 30 seconds.
Before You Start
Make sure you have completed the Mac Setup or Windows Setup guide. You should be able to type claude in your terminal to start a conversation.
Step 1: Start Claude
Open your terminal and start Claude:
claude
Step 2: Paste Your Messy Notes
Copy your rough notes and paste them into Claude with a clear instruction. Here is an example:
Here are my rough notes from a team meeting. Turn them into a clean, professional summary email I can send to the team. Keep it under 200 words.
Notes:
- discussed Q1 targets, Sarah thinks we can hit 50k
- new hire starting Monday, needs laptop and onboarding
- website redesign pushed to March, waiting on design team
- holiday party Dec 15, budget approved $2000
- action items: John does budget report, Maria handles onboarding
Claude will turn your messy bullet points into a clean, ready-to-send email.
Step 3: Try a Blog Post
Got a longer set of notes you want to turn into an article? Try this:
I have some rough ideas for a blog post. Turn them into a 500-word article with a title, introduction, 3 main points, and a conclusion. Keep the tone friendly and professional.
My rough ideas:
- remote work is changing how we hire
- location doesn't matter anymore for most roles
- the best talent wants flexibility
- companies that force return to office are losing people
- we hired 3 great people this year who live in different countries
Step 4: Make a Social Post
Need something shorter? Ask Claude to condense your notes into a tweet or LinkedIn post:
Turn my blog post into a LinkedIn post. Keep it under 150 words. Make it personal and include a question at the end to encourage comments.
What Else You Can Try
Rewrite this email to sound more friendly and less formal.
Take these 10 bullet points and turn them into a one-page proposal I can send to a client.
Here is a voice memo transcript. Clean it up, remove the filler words, and organize it into clear paragraphs.
What You Learned
You just turned scattered thoughts into polished writing without spending an hour editing. The trick is giving Claude your raw material and a clear instruction about what you want back. The rougher the input, the more impressive the output.
